Clones

I wrote about clones here: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Clone

Summary: the meaning of "clone" depends on who you ask. Our meaning of "clone" includes Yali switches. Some people use "Alps clone" to include KPT, Omron, "Monterey" SMK etc. To me, an "Alps clone" switch must fit in an Alps keyboard.

This appears to be cream/ivory tactile. It does not say that it is damped. Maybe the first cream/ivory switches were not damped. There are switches that have space for the rubber dampers, but do not have the rubber dampers fitted.

Do you have a PDF of that Alps catalogue? :)

I do not intend to refer to switches in conversation by part number. I just like to know the part numbers. I have given all the switches English-language names (e.g. "Alps SKCM Blue") to be used in conversation, though normally people will just say "blue Alps" :)
