在Computex 2017期間宣布將在今年下半年推出第八代Core i系列處理器消息後，Intel確認採Cannon Lake架構設計的新處理器將以旗下10nm製程技術量產，而下一款同樣基於10nm製程的Ice Lake架構處理器也已經完成設計。
不過，就目前Intel處理器發展藍圖來看，預計下半年預計推出代號Coffee Lake的第八代Core i系列處理器仍以14nm製程量產，但相比代號Kaby Lake的第七代Core i系列處理器將帶來30%左右效能提昇。
而就Intel此次透露代號Cannon Lake的處理器將以10nm製程製作，同時下一款代號Ice Lake處理器則將採用更精進的10nm製程製作，同時也已經完成最後設計流程，但並未透露具體推行時間。
只是從目前三星、台積電等製程技術已經進展至10nm階段，甚至已經開始有相關處理器產品問世，並且用於市售機種，因此對於製程技術精進先前處於瓶頸的Intel而言，或許將面臨不少挑戰壓力。
